Prevention: Reducing the Risk of an Abscess

10th October 2024

Prevention is better than cure, as the saying goes. Whilst this is true, it is, of course, impossible to assure or guarantee that a routine will prevent something from happening.

Still, we have exercise routines to prevent heart disease, healthy diets to prevent fat build-up and more. Those are not magic bullets, but rather a common sense, tried-and-tested approach to a problem.

In today’s post, we want to provide a few guidelines to help prevent abscesses from developing, but of course, there are no guarantees. It’s simply a bit of common sense and advice on keeping up a good, healthy oral routine.

So here goes: the best way to prevent an abscessed tooth is by practising good oral hygiene. Also, make sure to visit your dentist regularly!

Proper oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups will always be your weapons in reducing the risks of having an abscessed tooth and other gum diseases.
